Girls Are Gone

Billy and Sheri drove over after lunch to pick up the girls.  First time we really had to visit with them since we got back home.

Once they left, we decided to spend another night at this park as there was still some snow on the roads.  No need to move this big rig in this weather.
The next morning (Monday) we got up and drove to New Mannford Ramp Campground on Lake Keystone.  We stayed there until Thursday.

Gorgeous weather, long walks, naps, knitting... this Grandma was happy to relax and rest after a hectic 4 days with the girls.

Day 3 of Spring Break Trip with Girls

What a surprise.  We woke up to a snow storm!  After much discussion, the girls decided they would be quite happy staying in and playing today rather than going to the aquarium.  I think we must of tired them out over the last two days!

What could be more fun than frosted flakes and cartoons?

We are amazed at how well Gracie and Chi play together.  Chi has sure matured while we were gone.

Playing cards with Gracie...

While Chi is busy playing on her own.

All in all, a quiet day of enjoying each others company, long naps, cuddle time and book reading.  What a perfect day!

Day Two of Spring Break Trip with the Girls

The girls and I slept in the bedroom and Bill slept on the hide-a-bed with the dogs.  Grace got up early but Chi and I went back to sleep for a bit longer.

Thank goodness Bill fixes breakfast as my brain isn't awake and functioning yet.  Now to decide where to go.  After options discussed, we all decide to go to the Kaleidoscope Children's Museum.

This immediately captured the girls' attention.

The theater room... ah, dress up!

Chi is absolutely horrified over this mask...

My singing girls...

Playing in the grocery store...

Hm, let's try that picture again!

Gracie's new love - rock climbing!

We really didn't think she would do this... or at least more than one try.  Boy did she prove us wrong.  It took her two tries to reach the top (more than 30' high).  Then she proceeded to climb to the top three more times!  She finally admitted to being tired at the end of the 5th climb.  Crazy girl!

Once she caught on as to how to think ahead to place her hands and feet, she was a climbing fool!

Almost to the top!

Rappelling down - according to Gracie this is the really fun part!

Next stop - Mazzios Pizza for Gracie's birthday meal.

Nap time - with a promise to go to the park when they wake up.

Back to the park...

Time to head back to the motorhome.  Bubble blowing is now on the agenda!

Waiting for dinner...

After an easy meal of salads and frozen dinners, we watched a movie and then headed to bed.

Good night!  (From an exhausted Grandma!)

2010 Spring Break Trip to Tulsa with the Girls

We arrived home to find two very excited girls to see us.  We immediately began to plan a spring break trip.  Because we haven't got a car hooked up to the motorhome yet (had Don and Juanette's car while on the Winter Trip), we wanted to stay close enough to home that Chi and I could drive the car while Bill and Grace went in the motorhome.

After much discussion, we decided to go spend four nights in Tulsa.  Reservations were made at the Tulsa Warrior RV Park.

We headed out on Thursday for Tulsa.  After checking into the park...
and walking the dogs...

After some exploring we came across a great playground along the river.

New friends...

A balancing act!

A visit to the Ice Cream Truck...

Tip to Grandma:  Tomorrow pack wipes and paper towels!

Back home to the motorhome.

Two very tired girls.

Elk City Master Gardener Class and FIre

On Tuesday, Bill and I made a fast run out to Elk City.  This town is located on the far western side of Oklahoma.  I was the speaker for their Master Gardener class.  My trusty powerpoint presentation on "Gardening Above the Ground" was once again a smash hit.  Always amaze myself that I can talk for 2 hours and not run out of things to say!

While I was in class, Bill went walking around the downtown area.  As he was coming back, he saw a fire.  Here are some pictures that he took.

Behind the Elk City Floral shop was a beauty salon.  These ladies were working in there when the fire started.

A frightening experience.  These firefighters are true heroes.
