Leaving the dogs (boarded at the Vet's) and motorhome behind, on Saturday we drove to Hays, Kansas to meet Billy and the girls. Billy quickly handed them over to us so he could get back on the road to drive home. Bill, I and the girls checked into the Sleep Inn to spend the night. After a short nap, we all headed down to the pool to spend some time playing in the water. Gracie has become quite the swimmer but the water was too deep for Chi so she attached herself to me and together we played in the water.
The next morning, after a brief swim and a big breakfast, we started the trip back to Woodland Park, Colorado. On the way we stopped in Burlington, CO to ride on the wonderfully restored Kit Carson Carousel. If you have time, click on the blue to go to the site and read "about the carousel". We had fun discussions with the girls regarding mountains but neither really had a clue about what to expect. So the first glimpses were quite exciting for both girls.
Arrived at the motorhome before dark. Fixed a quick dinner and then played games until bedtime. It is so nice to have the girls with us.
